House of Dohwa Rice Bran Cleansing Balm
The House of Dohwa Rice Bran Cleansing Balm is a sorbet-textured makeup remover balm that transforms into an oil when massaged onto dry skin. It is designed as the first step in the Korean double cleansing routine to help remove makeup, sunscreen, and excess sebum at the end of the day.
Its packaging includes a mini spatula for more hygienic product application. Upon contact with the skin, the texture melts, allowing for a gentle massage before emulsifying with water and rinsing. It is a practical option for those who prefer a sensory cleanse without using cotton pads.
First step of the double cleanse
The Rice Bran Cleansing Balm can be used as the first cleanser at night. After rinsing, follow with a water-based cleanser if you wish to perform a double cleanse, especially when you have used water-resistant sunscreen or makeup.
The formula includes rice extract and ferment, rice bran extract, Centella asiatica, Houttuynia cordata extract, and various forms of hyaluronic acid. These ingredients are part of the formula along with emollients and emulsifying agents that allow the balm to be rinsed off with water.
How to use it
- With dry hands and face, take an adequate amount using the included spatula.
- Apply the balm to a dry face and massage gently to help lift away makeup, sunscreen, and accumulated dirt.
- Add a few drops of lukewarm water and continue massaging until the product emulsifies.
- Rinse with plenty of lukewarm water.
- If performing a double cleanse, follow with a water-based cleanser suitable for your skin.
Avoid rubbing vigorously, especially around the eyes. If you use long-wear makeup, dedicate a few extra seconds to gentle massage without pulling on eyelashes or skin.
